Ahem,

It's been a year since I've posted a journal (my last offering my photographic work onto the web as a free for all) and about a year and a half since I've uploaded ANYTHING at all (apart from a few poster designs). I've still been here though, watching this arts community go by, becoming insprired by the fleeting images I see, but still idly waiting for *something*.

Now is that something, the new way to be and a new home.

I went through my gallery today. Sparse. It makes my last four years of my life seem... Uneventful. Though not entirely true, it is disconcerting to me that I've let time slip by without doing all that I've wanted to do. Perhaps I set my sights too high.

At any rate, this marks my final post under this account. Here I leave for you my work as it was, in the wake of a brighter future, untouched and guilty free for all to partake. My FX portfolio is outdated and shows only where I began, my stock and textures, though pretty, are only partially useful (I have learnt a lot from this process), and my designs are only tip of what I have done and yet left unshown. So in keeping with the trend of learning and moving forward, I leave a lot of unnecessary things unsaid, and say that my work will continue, and will be seen, but not on this here account. Bon voyage!

It's been half a year since I have bothered with a journal; a time in which so much has happened and yet nowhere near enough has changed, especially in reference to myself.

I do not know whoever reads this and I do not much care, but I do find it surprising how much activity my account gets, so I will write a few notes for those that will glance over this.

One big thing, I'm sorry to those that have requested larger versions of my stock, I have decided not to provide them because 1) I don't know how to, 2) I spend my time away from this site for long periods of time and 3) if I'm offering my work with no strings attached, I don't really want to be chasing around after other people when I have nothing to gain out of doing so. Sounds selfish I know, but hey, I'm the one giving in the first place.

I will not likely be uploading anymore stock either, unless I randomly take photos in a moment of free time. I am currently using everything for professional purposes and this means that I can't release what I have taken. But feel free to use my photos listed as stock and textures for anything and everything you want, no strings, no charge.

And finally, I truly hope to upload more of my finished work in the near future, even though I find that people like free stuff more than anything I have creatively done :P

So to those that have read this, I hope to hear from you and that everything I have provided goes to good use!

Cheers,

-Bryn

Do you know what's good? Being healthy.

Do you know what's bad? Being sick, tired and bored.

I had one day of being so damn healthy in amoungst the past few weeks of nagging sickness, and it was so damn glorious that now that I am sick again I feel worse than before. It seems, though, that if you pile on enough problems and (like hard pressed coal will become diamonds) instead of crushing you to the point of breaking, you gleam. So much drama has occurred, but I still feel better than I have in a long time!

Hence the additions of a few more sets. A few examples... a hint of what I've been up to in my life 'til now.

If I continue to feel great, and if I get healthier, expect a whole slew of free to use stock and some advertising for an event I held during my off time!

Glorious!

I really hate to see a page go into disrepair, but hell, I've been busy!

I've got a whole damn texture set (my favourite so far!) to upload when I get free time, and a whole heap of zombie goodness coming this way via photos, poster, brouchers, business cards, and web content!

Give me two more weeks of hard work for my course and my holidays will start, so I'll have time for all these updates...

If any one actually reads this thing other than my girlfriend :p

The decisions are made and all that remains is taking my first steps towards the now partially certain future I have planned for myself.

This makes me happy :)

As recent viewers of my profile may have gathered, I've started taking the shotgun approach to creativity... Not happy with just pursuing a single avenue to fulfilment with the arts, I have started meddling in photography, sculpture, 3d animation, product design, scriptwriting, set design, scale model creation, and possibly soon toy, clothes and model design, airbrush painting and film directing! Whew... I'm just hoping I don't spread my creativity too thinly and end up being a jack-of-all-for-nothing kind of guy. Personally, I think it will do more good than harm because I'm striving to connect each of these skills together to progress as a whole rather than as individual fields.

I mention the above because of their importance to my future, a future that is going to tire the hell out of me and make me doubt my conviction, all for the purpose of having a job that few can say they've ever been able to have. I'm going right for my goal with a precision shotgun, making myself pursue an advanced diploma for both graphic design and digital media, a certificate for special effects from the Granddad of the field, Dick Smith, and possibly finish a prosthetics course as well.

My hopeful future is as follows:

Finish Study (2009) - Get a Job in Design, make my money - Travel Europe (2010) - Decide whether I will pursue SFX in OZ, US or with a seedy low budget Euro horror company - Make my first feature film (2011ish) - Live the life of potential and eventual success

Dreams are great, reality is better!

Here's hoping I can get my arse into gear...
